Artist Statment

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My recent exploration into printmaking has influenced a new phase as an artist where I am able to fully communicate my concepts through integrating many mediums. This is an exciting leap of faith out of the comfort of the canvas into a new exciting world that has inspired my most recent series of divination tools. This fresh knowledge has inspired me in getting closer to understanding the unknown through my artwork while simultaneously building my skill set in both my craft and my spirituality. I use artwork not only as a form of communication between me and the unknown, but also as a mirror to understand myself at that moment in time. Through making art I allow myself to be open to the creative void where underlying issues surface as major themes of my artwork, thus representing transitions, lessons and breakthroughs and giving me understanding from a third perspective- from what I believe is the perspective of my spiritual muse. This has taught me to approach my art as a sacred way of communication and is the inspiration behind the name of my buisness, Sacred Paint. Through determination and inspiration I have successfully built my business on Etsy, a popular e-commerce site, where I have been able to sell screen printed fashion, originals, and giclee art prints internationally. The universal connectedness that art makes me feel has prompted me to be an active member in many diverse art communities. Within these communities, I can heal the world individually and collectively by sharing the inspiration that allows me to lead a passionate and enlightening life.
