ARTIST STATEMENT: 
“I approach painting as a meditation tool that grounds me to the world and opens me to the creative channel where healing and expression flourish. Creating a painting opens a void for me where unconscious struggles rise to the surface and find their way into my artwork. This becomes a mirror of the self where I can identify underlying issues and in this quiet void I find resolutions that I could not find in any other medium. This sanctuary is peaceful and forgiving and I have learned to forgive myself through my art work, learning that mistakes are beautiful and encourage growth. Painting has lead me to enlightenment where I learn that I do not have full control over the paint and the worlds element and physical laws guide me so. I find comfort in knowing that I only choose a pallet and a surface and the journey guides me from there. I find my inspiration in the organic shapes found in nature and the human body and it is a recurring thread throughout my artworks.My aspirations are to bring art to the medical field where we can find healing in creative expression through Expressive Art Therapy. I would love to become a leader in my profession and bring my wisdom and experience to the field and help guide others to the healing channel of creativity that I have personally found. “
